New Flesh in the Metropolis

Though it's never obliged to introduce yourself when you're just another girl starting a blog, I will shortly introduce myself to the world wide web and the world itself, or whoever's going to read this.
I'm new flesh in the metropolis.
I wasn't born in the city. In fact, in my home town, where my parents still live, we have horses behind our backyard. Sometimes you can bike on the middle of the street without bothering anyone. And sometimes, during summertime, when the road to my parents' house is dusty and the sun is shining over the fields, you can pretend like you're in France. Especially when listening to Comptine D'une Autre Eté.
But that's not the case anymore. In my case, the metropolis is Amsterdam. It's me and the city now.
It's not like I'm lonely. I'm growing, and at the same time I'm becoming smaller. That's what happens when you live in a crowded city I guess.
Maybe you question yourself, why I moved to the city. The answer is rather simple, though based on several reasons. I always wanted to live in Amsterdam. I rather not explain too much why, 'cause it will make me sound all cliché and touristic. Another reason is that I study Art History at the University of Amsterdam, which is...great!
That's all for now, if you don't mind. Thank you.
